Helpful Hints for more active walking

Choose comfortable, supportive shoes, such as running, walking, or cross-training shoes.

Drink plenty of water before, during and after walking to cool working muscles and keep your body hydrated.

Stay safe by telling others if you are walking alone and walk in well-lit areas, where there are more people.

Be careful of traffic and wear reflective clothing if walking in the dark.
