Leukemia Research
Leukemia Research is an important charity for Let's Get Healthy and a very personal one for Maria, who recently celebrated her younger sister's 10th year in remission from Lymphoma. She is grateful that the charity enables cutting edge research and advances which allowed her sister to triumph over cancer.

Fly me to the Moon Gala September 2007
Let's Get Healthy raised £27,000 for Leukemia Research with this spectacular event featuring celebrities from the world of entertainment and a star studded performance with a 'Rat Pack' theme. Celebrity support included Heather Peace, Shobna Gulati, Kay Mellor, and Gaynor Faye.

Maria ran the Mini Great North Run
Maria ran the mini Great North Run led by Gold medalist Liz McColgan and the team from Emmerdale to raise money for Leukemia Research.

New York Marathon November 2007
Maria sweated blood and tears to raise money for Leukemia Research in this trying contest of willpower and strength.




Proteus Syndrome
Proteus Syndrome is a rare congenital disorder causing skin overgrowth and unusual bone development which requires specialist treatment not widely available in the UK.

Mum's and Mates Marathon September 2007
Let's Get Healthy joined staff from Monkhill Confectionery to raise £500 in a marathon at Pontefract racecourse on behalf of Jordan Whitewood-Neil who suffers from Proteus Syndrome, enabling him to travel to the USA for specialist treatment for his condition.

Shakespeare Primary School Jump on Board January 2008
Let’s Get Healthy funded 16 children and their parents to take part in their 12 week "jump on board" programme.

Ruth Morse Foundation for Morley High School Feburary 2008
Our Mobile Health Studio visited Morley Town Centre offering residents free health checks and physical activity sessions allowing us to raise funds for the Ruth Morse Foundation. This inspiring charity enables parents who may be financially challenged to support their children in attending after school clubs and other activities.




Pontefract Hospice May 2008
Inspired by the Mums and Mates Marathon ,Julie and Maria completed a 50 mile bike ride in aid of the charity, raising over £500.

The charity's philosophy is to use employment to achieve equality and cohesion within the community focusing particularly on Eastern European migrants.

Sports Café July 2008
Joined by our supporting celebrities , Let’s Get Healthy raised a massive £4,270 for it’s chosen charities Leukaemia Research and Radio Aire’s Cash for Kids.
A massive thank you to the Sports Café who donated all of the auction items and hosted the event.

Leukemia Research
Maria committed to run 10 races over two years and already completed six in 2007 with a further four to complete in 2008. Leukaemia Research is at the forefront of the fight against leukaemia, Hodgkin’s and other lymphomas, myeloma, myelodysplasia, and aplastic anemia.

Great Edinburgh Run 10k Race May 2008
Let's Get Healthy supports Leukemia Research in this exciting race through the historic capital.

Great Manchester 10k Race May 2008
Europe's premiere 10k race happens in early May and Let's Get Healthy puts their team to the test to support Leukemia Research.

Edinburgh Marathon May 2008
Two teams from Let’s Get Healthy completed the relay race in less than 4 hours.
The 8 crazy runners raised over £900 for Jane Tomlinson’s Charity and had no blisters !

Great North Run October 2008
The Great North Run is the world's largest and most prestigious half marathon. Let's Get Healthy will support Leukemia Research in this exciting event taking place in Newcastle in October of this year.

Great South Run October 2008
Europe's premiere 10 mile run, the Great South Run takes place in Portsmouth in October of this year and Let's Get Healthy will be there supporting Leukemia Research.

Fly me to the Moon September 2008
Let's Get Healthy hopes to hold another 'Fly me to the Moon' Gala after the success of last year, with the goal of beating the £27,000 raised for Leukemia Research.




Jane Tomlinson Charity June 2008
The late Jane Tomlinson was the close friend and next door neighbor of one of the Let's Get Healthy team. Her charity 'Jane's Appeal' raises funds for medical research, cancer treatment and specialist care. Let's Get Healthy will be entering a team to compete in this important 10k event in Leeds.
